Emergency restoration in Texas is an important, yet often overlooked aspect of life. Emergency restoration are critical services that are required when devastating disasters happen – both at work and at home. Let’s break down what emergency restoration in Texas is and why you should work with a professional restoration company.

What is emergency restoration in Texas?

Emergency restoration services provide timely assistance when a commercial or residential disaster happens. From floods and fires to hurricanes and earthquakes, emergency restoration teams are equipped with the expertise and resources required to restore homes and businesses after a disaster. The goal of these services is simple—to minimize disruption and get life back to normal as soon as possible.

The first step of any emergency restoration project is assessment and mitigation. This involves identifying the extent of the damage caused by the disaster, assessing risks, and formulating a plan for repair and recovery. This can include everything from extracting water to repairing structural damage to fixing plumbing and electrical.

Emergency restoration teams typically use specialized tools (such as infrared cameras, thermal imaging detectors, moisture meters, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers) to properly assess and remediate affected areas.

Why work with an emergency restoration company in Texas?

For many homeowners, unexpected disasters or emergencies can be incredibly stressful. Fortunately, the help of an emergency restoration company can help make this difficult time much easier.

These companies not only offer fast and efficient repairs to restore your home to its original condition, but they can also provide up-to-date knowledge about the latest technology for things such as water extraction and flood damage control. They are equipped to handle damaged furniture, carpets, walls, and flooring quickly, safely, and professionally.

Additionally, these professionals know what to look for in deep-seated structural water damage that other methods may not detect.

By working with an emergency restoration company you benefit from their vast experience when it comes to repair techniques and insurance protocols – both of which can save time and money in the long run.

SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford outlines six tips for effective water damage restoration

11/17/2022 (Permalink)

Blog Summary: SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford shares six tips for effective water removal and restoration.

Water damage from pipe bursts, a leaky roof, storm damage, or flooding can be one of the most unpleasant situations to experience.

While water is essential for human survival, it can be highly disastrous if it gets into the wrong places in your home or business; the damages will only worsen as you delay.

The team at SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford, a full-service water damage restoration company, has outlined the following tips for effective water removal and repair.

1. Hire a water restoration specialist

One of the best things you can do when dealing with water damage is to contact a reputable water damage restoration company like SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford. They are experienced and can quickly return your property to its preloss state using state-of-the-art equipment.

Most times, when property owners DIY water damage restoration and water removal, the job is done inefficiently and puts the property at additional risk.

2. Turn off the water source

Your first job should be to stop the water damage from getting worse. If you are dealing with a pipe burst or leak, you should first find the source of the water and turn it off.

This step is relatively easy for sinks or appliances because there’s usually a water connection and associated shutoff valve attached. However, for hidden pipelines or significant water main leaks, you must shut off the water supply to the residence until the leak is fixed.

Search for the primary water source and shut it off using the red or green knob on the valve.

3. Dispose of porous and damaged materials

Porous materials should be disposed of in the event of a flood or other substantial water damage. These materials absorb a large volume of water and can cause irreparable damage. They can start to grow mold and mildew when left on the property.

You might need to get rid of your drywall, upholstered furniture, rugs, carpets, and mattresses damaged by water.

4. Disinfect affected surfaces

After getting rid of everything that must be thrown away and thoroughly disinfecting every saturated surface, your best bet is typically a decent bleach solution. These are inexpensive and simple to create, inhibit mold growth on solid surfaces, and kill germs.

Wear a face mask and safety goggles for this. Once you’ve prepared the bleach solution, wipe each surface down, rinse it, and let it air dry.

5. Check for Mold

When mold infests a space, it usually spreads quickly, so it is in your best interest to check for growth to ensure the air around your home is clean and healthy. Most water removal and restoration companies would typically inspect your property for mold spores. However, if they don’t, be sure to ask them!

6. Verify your homeowner's insurance

It can be stressful and impossible to address severe water damage alone. You should always check with your house insurance provider to know what is covered in the event of severe water damage. While relatively trivial causes like leaky pipes or damaged appliances are not likely covered, significant, unforeseeable events like burst pipes or flooding probably are.

SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford outlines the steps to post-property disaster restoration

10/15/2022 (Permalink)

Blog Summary: SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford shares tips on handling property damage and getting your property back to normal after a disaster.

Post-disaster restoration involves cleaning, restoring, and even rebuilding your property to get it to its pre-damaged state.

However, the process can be time-consuming and hectic, especially if you go the DIY route. SERVPRO® of Hurst-Euless-Bedford is a reputable property restoration company in Hurst, offering post-disaster restoration services for fire, water, and other disasters.

Their team has outlined the following tips on how to handle post-disaster property restoration:

1. Document the damage

If you have a basic insurance plan that can cover the cost of the property restoration, then it’s vital to call your insurance provider to inform them about the disaster before you begin the restoration process. The insurance company will advise you on the claims procedure and give you details on restoration firms affiliated with them if any.

They will typically send representatives to inspect the damage. However, you'll have to document the damage as proof since most disasters like water damage, fire damage, mold, storm damage, and floods result in more damage as time goes by.

2. Call for help

Property owners are always helpless in the face of flood disasters. Buildings damaged by storms, floods, and cyclones need to be repaired quickly.

However, cleaning up after a disaster can be stressful, and most property owners are not cut out for it. Instead of attempting to handle the restoration process on your own, you’ll be better served by hiring property restoration services.

Contact a professional disaster restoration company like SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford to help clean up your property as quickly as possible. They’ll clear out the water, soot, smoke, and mold in the event of a fire or water damage and get your property back to a habitable state in no time.

3. Protect your valuables

Move unaffected furniture, equipment, and any valuable items out of the way to make space for the property restoration.

Most items will likely have soot, smoke, or water damage when dealing with fire damage or flooding. Nothing should be stored without first being thoroughly inspected and cleaned to remove any moisture, odor, and other impurities.

Most property restoration companies offer content restoration. They will clean and dry any affected belongings to get them to their preloss state.

4. Commence damage mitigation

Disaster damage mitigation involves securing your property to stop further damage. Most property restoration companies start with damage mitigation, which will involve cleaning soot, smoke, water, boarding damaged areas, and more. The restoration process always depends on the type of disaster you are faced with.

Water damage restoration will require clearing any standing water using pumps, then cleaning and drying the property structures and affected belongings, dehumidifying, and sterilizing to prevent mold formation.

5. Rebuilding and reconstruction

The next stage, after securing your property and stopping further damage, is to start rebuilding any damaged parts. Most disaster restoration companies offer rebuilding and reconstruction services as part of their disaster restoration packages.

They’ll first assess the level of damage and provide you with a quote to fix everything from your damaged roof to broken pipes, burnt walls, damaged ceilings, and so on.

These services are extremely beneficial as they save you the time and effort of hiring each expert individually. The companies will work with third-party restoration experts to rebuild all damaged parts of your property and get it back to its preloss state.

SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford outlines the time it takes to complete a water restoration process

9/23/2022 (Permalink)

Blog Summary: SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford outlines the factors that affect the time frame of water damage restoration.

Water damage is one of the most terrible things to experience. It can quickly turn your lovely and comfortable home or office into a mess. Thankfully, there are ways to restore your space to its preloss state quickly.

While you want the water damage dealt with quickly, water removal and water damage restoration take time, depending on the scale of the damage.

The restoration professionals at SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford, a top water damage restoration company in Hurst, have listed the following factors that affect the length of the water damage restoration process.

1. The source of the water damage

The source of the water damage is a major determinant of the length of time it will take to complete the restoration. It will take less time to fix water damage from a roof leak compared to one from a pipe burst. The pipe burst can lead to a flood, which will take longer to clean up.

2. The size of the damage

The larger the water damage, the more time it will take to complete. It will take less time to restore water damage from a pipe burst affecting only your wall than it would deal with flooding from a sewage backup that affects the whole house.

3. How long did the water stay on the property?

Water damage is a time-based problem. The longer you leave it unattended, the more damage will occur and the longer it will take to clean up. It’s important to call a water damage restoration service once you notice the damage.

4. The amount of water that got into the house

The amount of water that got into the house from a flood, pipe burst, or other water damage incidents determines the level of damage and the restoration timeline. The more water that gets in, the higher the level of damage.

5. Does the water or flood contain any contaminants (was it from a sewage backup, or did it come into contact with a dangerous substance)?

The type of water you are dealing with plays a massive role in the length of time the restoration process will take. Water removal professionals have to include some extra steps like sterilizing and deodorizing when dealing with water from a sewage backup.

  1. The types of materials affected by the flood or water damage

The type of material affected will determine the level of damage. Some materials react differently to water compared to others. For instance, drywall is a porous material that would absorb water and react quicker to water than a concrete wall.

As such, it will take longer to get the water off the drywall compared to the concrete wall.

7. The belongings that were affected by the water damage

Since water damage restoration typically comes with content restoration, the professionals will also need time to restore your rug, furniture, and any other affected properties.

8. The presence of mold

The restoration process can become longer if mold is found in the house. There are processes for mold removal that may require a few hours to a few days to complete.

How a professional water damage restoration company is helping property owners in Bedford combat water damage

8/24/2022 (Permalink)

Blog Summary: Here’s why you should choose SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford property restoration services.

If damage to your property is ignored, it could have disastrous effects. Water, fire, mold, and other hazards can make flooring, drywall, and furniture vulnerable to stains and microbiological development. Quick intervention can stop more damage to your building and allow for fast restoration.

This is where property damage restoration companies like SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford can help. SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford offers top-quality property repair services to get your Bedford property back to its preloss state.

Their services come with many benefits that give you the edge in fighting water damage, fire damage, mold, and other biohazards.

Here are the top reasons you should choose SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford for your property damage restoration.

1. Fast water restoration

It is essential to act quickly to remove the water from your home and the affected belongings to prevent further damage.

The SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford team is equipped with the specialized gear and machinery required to remove water quickly. They have high-quality water-absorbing vacuums and pumps, moisture-removing dryers and dehumidifiers, and technical cleaning supplies designed to cleanse your house and protect your belongings.

  1. Stop the spread of mold

Your biggest concern following water damage should be mildew growth. Molds have an incredibly rapid surface-to-surface dispersion. They can start to grow within 48 hours of a water damage event and can be harmful to your property.

Mold forms in fissures, cracks, and other places like the joints in the ceiling and floor and can increase the possibility of respiratory issues for you and other occupants of the property. Mold removal is a component of the water damage restoration process.

The SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford will eliminate mold or mildew in your property and safeguard your home from future mold and fungus growth.

3. They make insurance claims easier

It can be challenging to submit insurance claims after experiencing water damage. The losses will need to be documented, which is easier to achieve when working with professional water damage restoration businesses.

You can be sure that you will receive a reasonable settlement as SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford is experienced in dealing with insurance carriers. Their specialists can also provide thorough proof of the damage to facilitate your insurance claims.

4. They help you save money

Severe damage may occur in a matter of minutes after flooding. The actions you take as soon as you realize a problem impact how much money you lose following a mishap. You can save time and money by hiring water restoration specialists right now.

Property damage restoration professionals can help you restore rugs and furnishings you would have otherwise replaced. They employ instruments that cause the area to dry up while they suck the water, protecting your belongings from severe damage.

5. They eliminate possible health effects

Contamination is a major worry when there is water or fire damage. A broken sewer pipe can make it more likely for bacteria to thrive and spread. Even clean water becomes dangerous when left out for an extended period, serving as a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford can help prevent all of these. Their team of specialists will quickly remove standing water from your property. They will dehumidify and dry all the surfaces to ensure the cleanliness of the entire house.

To help speed up your property restoration after a disaster while minimizing the scale of damage, here are important steps homeowners can take:

Stay safe

After a disaster breaks out, the urge to commence the restoration process immediately is quite understandable. But beyond disaster recovery, you want to make sure that you and your loved ones are safe. You need to protect yourself and your family from potential hazards.

For example, flood damage can threaten the structural integrity of your home, and expose you to harm. Same way, a fire accident can result in a significant personal injury. That said, it is important to prioritize safety before anything else.

Document everything

Recovering from property damage can be very expensive. Hopefully, homeowners insurance policy may help cover most, if not all, of the costs of repair and replacement. But the challenge is insurance companies can be hesitant to pay out on a policy, after all, they are in business to make profits.

One of the things you can do to file a strong claim is to provide proof that the damage was caused by an accident or event covered under the insurance policy. Take photos of the damage, including damage to personal belongings, first responder reports, and documents showing all property maintenance expenses.

Find a reliable property damage restoration technician

If your home has experienced serious damage, it is important to immediately look for a reliable property damage restoration service in your area. Large-scale damage such as major floods, hurricanes, or earthquakes can be too complex for you to handle. Therefore, it is best to enlist the service of a professional property damage restoration technician who has extensive experience dealing with such damage.

A property damage restoration company such as SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford can make finding a qualified and experienced property restoration specialist faster and easier. This is achieved by leveraging their wide network of pre-screened technicians in the fields of electrical systems, plumbing, mold remediation, and general contracting to find the right professional for your specific restoration needs.

Find a temporary accommodation

While dealing with minor disasters recovery can be fast, it can take days and even weeks to restore a badly damaged property. Depending on the severity of the property damage, the occupants may not be able to reside in the affected property until the restoration is fully done.

Being able to find temporary accommodation can help homeowners settle in while providing the restoration professionals with enough time to do their job. Some of the options include staying with friends or family members or finding a new lodging while the property restoration is ongoing.

Why should property owners choose SERVPRO for mold remediation?

5/31/2022 (Permalink)

Blog summary: The SERVPRO blog explains why its team is one of the best choices when it comes to mold removal.

Mold infestation? Call SERVPRO

Why should you hire SERVPRO? Before reading this blog, review the Texas Mold Assessment and Remediation Rules (TMARR) to get a good idea of what is required of a professional mold remediation firm, and what the mold removal process entails. Thereafter, read below why SERVPRO has been a one-stop solution for property owners seeking a professional and reliable mold removal team.

1. Swift response

When property owners are faced with mold growth, they can call SERVPRO for instant emergency response. Before arriving at the scene, a representative will ask important questions to help determine the equipment, personnel, and resources that the project may require. A swift response can arrest further damage and unnecessary costs.

2. Detailed inspection and assessment

SERVPRO’s highly qualified team carefully inspects the property for visible signs of mold using its advanced technology and equipment. A licensed mold consultant will need to be called to perform a detailed inspection and collect mold samples for analysis and a detailed document is created to appraise the property owner of the mold remediation plan. The team is methodical and transparent in its operations and ensures the property owner understands the costs and steps that are involved in completing the mold remediation process.

3. Foolproof containment protocol

Before carrying out mold removal, the SERVPRO team will contain the area that has been infested with mold to avoid further spread. A total surface area of 25 contiguous square feet or more requires immediate containment protocol to be followed. Ideally, when the mold is first discovered by the occupants, the area should be immediately isolated and all fans and HVACS should be switched off to prevent the spores from spreading to other parts of the house.

With the help of advanced containment procedures like negative air chambers and negative air pressure, the SERVPRO team carries out the remediation process without the risk of the spores spreading to the unaffected area.

Moreover, the SERVPRO technicians employ the use of specialized filtration equipment such as air scrubbers and HEPA vacuums to capture and halt the spread of the invisible mold spores floating in the air during the remediation.

  1. Careful and efficient mold removal

The initial mold analysis helps determine the extent of mold growth as well as the types of surface infested. This helps decide the types of disinfectants, biocides, and antimicrobial coatings registered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that the team will use to remove mold colonies. In case of heavy mold growth, the team may need to remove and discard the materials like drywall and carpeting that are beyond rescue. The team not only removes the mold colonies but also ensures that there is no recurrence.

  1. Cleaning and odor removal

The IICRC-certified technicians are equipped in cleaning every type of material from furniture, decorative items, and curtains to clothing affected by mold. But mold often leaves an unpleasant musty smell.

The technicians will not only remove the mold but eliminate all evidence of it ever impacting the area. The odor removal and deodorization team uses several odor removal products capable of penetrating surfaces to neutralize an unpleasant odor thoroughly.

  1. Miscellaneous services

A mold-infested structure such as a drywall need not be replaced completely. The SERVPRO building team will repair the damaged part of the structure. If there is a wall that needs a fresh coat of paint, the team will do it. Does a new carpet need to be installed to replace the old discarded one? SERVPRO will take care of it. From small to major repairs, SERVPRO is a one-stop solution for all mold removal and repair services for homes and businesses.

Why SERVPRO?

Throughout the past year, that number has more than doubled, according to the National Centers for Environmental Information. Although statistics help describe the destruction brought on by natural disasters, no measurement can quantify the loss and trauma to individuals, families, and communities. The struggle of those involved as they work to rebuild a sense of normalcy is often not seen.

SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford is proud to assist by offering Commercial Large aloes Disaster Recovery services after any catastrophic emergency in the United States. With the resources of four SERVPRO franchises throughout DFW, we are well-positioned to respond to any disaster.

Control the Environment

Commercial-sized desiccant dehumidifiers remove water from the air and dense materials while increasing the air temperature, further drying the structure, and helping to better control the environment.

Remove Contaminated Material

To ensure a safe and efficient clean-up, SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford crews will remove contaminated material and items that are beyond repair and remove restorable items for off-site cleaning.

Dry the Structure

Various sized air movers and dehumidifiers are strategically placed throughout the structure to accelerate the drying process.

Our crews can be ready at a moment’s notice, deploying cutting-edge drying equipment and service vehicles that feature truck-mounted water extractors that operate even without electricity. Response time is critical for communities to get up and running again. When disaster strikes, we are ready to answer the call and make it “Like it never even happened.” Reach our office at (817) 595-0004.

SERVPRO: Prevent mold growth in closets

1/27/2022 (Permalink)

Blog summary: The SERVPRO blog shares the steps homeowners can take to avoid the growth of mold in their closets. The blog also shares the common causes of mold growth.

Stop the mold growing in closets

Mold spores need dark, damp, and poorly ventilated spaces to grow in. And closets offer a perfectly humid setting for a mold colony to flourish on its walls, floors, shelves, and garments. A pipe leaking behind the closet walls, attic mold, or leaky roof can cause enough moisture for mold or mildew growth in closets. SERVPRO helps homeowners recognize the signs of mold growth in closets and how to prevent it.

Besides the visible signs of mold such as black, green, or white spots on the walls, floors, ceilings, and clothing, there are invisible signs of mold in the closet that homeowners must be aware of:

  • Unpleasant smells, which can be a musty odor, earthy, or cheesy
  • Increased relative humidity levels
  • Brown or black spots on the floor or carpeting
  • Unexplained health issues

DIY project?

Mold can cause some serious health effects in human beings and therefore a professional must handle the situation. However, a small area of mold (less than ten square feet) can be treated by homeowners using some common household items. It must be noted that the results of DIY mold remediation cannot match with a professional remediation process that uses advanced technology and products that homeowners struggle to access.

In a DIY project, homeowners must wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), such as rubber gloves, eye protection/goggles, and an N-95 mask.

It is strongly advised that a Texas-licensed Mold Remediation Contractor is consulted instead of tackling mold remediation as a DIY project. Before hiring a mold remediation company, review the Texas Mold Assessment and Remediation Rules (TMARR). This will provide a good idea of what is required of a professional mold remediation firm, and what the mold removal process entails.

Preventing Mold Growth in Closets

Mold spores are floating around in the air and attach themselves to surfaces that offer an ideal environment for them to grow into a colony. Here are a few preventive measures homeowners can take to discourage the growth of mold in closets:

  • Keep closets clean: Mold requires dirt and debris found in fabric fibers to thrive. Store only washed laundry in the closet to avoid mold growth. During periods of high humidity, closets must be cleaned more often.
  • Get rid of moisture: Silica gel packets can absorb all moisture and can be placed throughout the closet as an inexpensive substitute for dehumidifiers. Never hang any wet clothing in the closet.
  • Ventilation: Install proper ventilation such as a box fan or exhaust fan in the closet so air can circulate freely. Cold air from dehumidifiers or air conditioners can help dry out the air much better than warm air. Attaching a humidistat to the unit can help monitor and keep the humidity under control.
  • Heat: Install a low-wattage light bulb in closets located at a safe distance from clothes or other flammable items. Leave the light on for several hours to allow the heat from the bulb to keep the closet and the clothing dry.
  • Separate storage: Store shoes and other items that create moisture buildup in another place.
  • Water damage: Inspect the house for any water damage and repair as needed. Check for any plumbing leak or other water issues that can create an ideal environment for mold to grow.
  • Remove mildew: Any minor sign of mildew must be addressed immediately. Brush off the surface outdoors to prevent the mold spores from scattering. Wash the mildew clothing with detergent and warm water. Then sun and air out the clothing thoroughly.
  • No plastic: The polyethylene composition of the dry-cleaning bags can trap humidity and cause mold to grow. So avoid using these bags for storage.

By following these tips, homeowners can prevent mold and help reduce the chances of a mold-infested closet. In case mold removal is required, they can contact a professional mold remediation company such as SERVPRO. SERVPRO’s mold removal and mold remediation team is the right choice for mold growth that has gotten out of hand. The technicians at SERVPRO use the latest technology and products to remove mold in a methodical and precise fashion. Following a mold removal protocol from a licensed Mold Assessment Consultant helps to ensure the proper remediation of mold and lessens the likelihood of new growth from the same source. SERVPRO also offers restoration and reconstruction services for areas that have been affected by mold infestation.

SERVPRO: Choose a property restoration company that is a part of a renowned franchise

11/29/2021 (Permalink)

Blog Summary: The SERVPRO franchisee at Hurst-Euless-Bedford explains how it is dedicated to excellence while serving the damage restoration needs of residents as well as business owners.

Why hire a franchisee like SERVPRO at Hurst-Euless-Bedford?

It is a very relevant question. Why should any homeowner or business owner in Hurst-Euless-Bedford hire SERVPRO? The team answers this very pertinent question with an array of benefits that comes with an association with SERVPRO.

Before diving into the benefits, here’s the genesis story of SERVPRO.

The genesis and rise of SERVPRO

In 1967, Ted and Doris Isaacson founded SERVPRO as a painting business in California. The Isaacsons’ talent, hard work, and vision soon led to the expansion of the company into a franchisor of property damage restoration and cleaning specialists. Their first franchise was sold in 1969. The franchise strategically moved to Gallatin, Tennessee, placing itself within 600 miles of 50% of the U.S. population.

Thereafter, SERVPRO grew exponentially with 1000 franchisees across the country by the year 2000. Currently, the number of franchisees is almost double. What makes SERVPRO stands apart from its competitors is its proud history, a clear vision for the future, a team of dedicated professionals, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

The constant upgrade of skills and its IICRC certification, the latest equipment, cutting-edge technologies, advanced cleaning techniques, and the combined knowledge, experience, and resources of over 1700 franchises makes SERVPRO a holistic restoration service.

The benefits of hiring a SERVPRO franchisee

The SERVPRO culture is to deliver excellence in its restoration services and returning a damaged property to its preloss condition, swiftly and efficiently. Here are the unmatched benefits of working with a SERVPRO franchisee:

  • Size matters: SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford has over 1,800 partners around the United States and Canada. In times of emergencies, the size of the restoration company a property owner hires makes a difference. Due to its presence across the country, SERVPRO is capable of offering superior service compared to non-franchised competitors.
  • Teamwork: With the vast number of franchises across the country, SERVPRO has access to an immense pool of knowledge, experience, and resources. The collective knowledge, skills, and experience as well as the problem-solving capabilities of all the SERVPRO franchisees put together are unmatched.
  • Efficiency: Irrespective of the challenge, a SERVPRO franchisee has the capacity to resolve any possible problem. With access to nearly two thousand franchisees and their brilliant teams, nothing is impossible for SERVPRO. These franchisees’ experience base itself multiplies the efficiency levels, reduces errors and waste, and ensures absolute customer satisfaction. The SERVPRO team functions smoothly - crews arrive on the scene, communicate with the command center, roll out their equipment, deploy to the assigned areas, and begin the process of restoring the property.
  • Swift response: Disasters such as flash floods and earthquakes can occur anywhere, anytime. With the vast network of franchisees across the country, SERVPRO can ensure that its clients are assisted swiftly and efficiently, no matter where they are. SERVPRO franchisees can reach out to their counterparts and deploy a small team of responders in the area the client is located in. A disaster situation can arise unexpectedly, therefore the response time must be minimal.
  • High standards: Owing to the continuity of protocol, cleaning standards, process, performance, safety procedures, and quality across all SERVPRO franchisees, the response by the teams is unified, well-coordinated, and highly efficient. The constant up-gradation of skills and certifications ensures high standards and a synchronized response.
  • Large-Loss Incidents: Addressing a disaster that impacts an entire city or a large area requires massive manpower. With the SERVPRO franchisees, dozens or hundreds of crews along with specialized equipment can be mobilized for a rapid, efficient, and well-managed response. Logistically, competitors cannot match SERVPRO’s speed and scope when events like tsunamis , hurricanes, or forest fires occur.
  • One-stop-shop: It makes sense to work with a company that can take care of all the restoration needs. Industries and other companies with multiple locations in the region can trust their large-scale needs to one franchise instead of multiple associations with various companies. This also proves to be economical and efficient for any organization in the long run.

Create a Ready Plan now with SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford before disaster strikes. With its 24x7 emergency response, vast network, mammoth experience, vast skilled team, and IICRC certification, any homeowner or business owner would be in safe hands.

10/20/2021 (Permalink)

Blog summary: The blog by SERVPRO gives insight into its exceptional cleaning services for all kinds of situations in residential, commercial, and industrial properties.

Why is SERVPRO the best choice for commercial cleaning services?

SERVPRO talks about a multitude of cleaning services that businesses often need, and why SERVPRO’s specialized training and products are one of the best options to get a property back to business swiftly and efficiently.

1. Air Ducts and HVAC

Maintaining the air ducts and HVAC system helps save energy, eliminate odors, prevent microbial growth, and improve the air quality for everyone in the building. On average, dust, pet dander, and other pollutants are recirculated 5 to 7 times a day which can cause contaminants to build up in the air ducts. HVAC system maintenance system includes cleaning the motor, housing, fans, grilles, coils, and register.

SERVPRO technicians investigate the causes of any indoor quality concerns and make recommendations that may or may not include cleaning the air ducts. The SERVPRO team’s purpose is to resolve the problem, save money, and provide peace of mind.

2. Biohazard and Sewage

The decontamination of a home or business due to trauma, sewage backups, chemical spills, hoarding, or other biohazards can be both dangerous and emotional. Biohazard cleanup and restoration of a business often stem from an unfortunate situation.

Specialized training and experience are imperative when choosing a cleanup company to resolve these circumstances. SERVPRO’s technicians have the experience and the training to provide a meticulous handling and specialized cleaning process to its customers.

The ultimate goal is to minimize the stress for loved ones and property owners. SERVPRO is prepared for all types of situations.

Carpets act as a filter, trapping dust, dirt, gases, animal hair, and other soils. All carpet manufacturers agree that regular carpet cleanings help extend the life of a carpet.

SERVPRO technicians are IICRC certified to determine the best way to clean different types of carpets. The technicians use methods such as bonnet cleaning, hot water extraction/steam cleaning, showcase cleaning, and dry cleaning to clean different types of carpets.

5. Drapes and Blinds

When draperies need cleaning, make certain they are dry cleaned ONLY. Some cleaners have equipment designed for clothes cleaning, while others have equipment specifically designed for draperies.

The SERVPRO team carefully inspects and tests fabrics to determine which of the System’s five cleaning methods is best suited to the fabrics. The team uses state-of-the-art equipment designed specifically for cleaning fine fabrics.

SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford has an exclusive process and state-of-the-art equipment to dry clean draperies at home. A specially formulated solvent is injected into the drapery under pressure and the chemical is extracted, leaving the drapes clean. This special process not only cleans impeccably but also protects the material from any shrinkage. SERVPRO offers quality cleaning and at a reasonable price.

6. Ceilings, Walls, and Hard Floors

As the holiday season arrives, redecoration and deep cleaning is a decision many property owners take. Cleaning the walls and ceiling often becomes necessary as dirt and grime gets kicked up during these renovations. Cleaning helps keep the dust from building up and keeps the air clean.

SERVPRO offers professional cleaning for ceilings and walls. With its specialized training in time-tested and industry-approved cleaning methods, the technicians at SERVPRO can clean and restore the floor and ceiling’s beauty.

SERVPRO is IICRC-trained to identify and eliminate offensive odors. The technicians have access to the equipment and odor removal products to identify and eliminate offensive odors.

8. Vandalism

SERVPRO recommends the steps to clean black mold at home

8/20/2021 (Permalink)

Blog summary: SERVPRO explains the mold remediation process that homeowners can follow. It also talks about the mold remediation process a professional team like SERVPRO follows when the mold-affected area is much larger.

SERVPRO talks about mold and its remediation

Black mold growing inside a home can have some serious health effects on the inhabitants of the house if left untreated. It is imperative to recognize this mold and take timely actions to arrest its growth. SERVPRO talks about black mold in-depth and how its professional team is well-equipped to handle this threat swiftly and safely.

What is black mold?

Black mold or Stachybotrys chartarum usually grows outdoors in the soil, but it can also grow indoors in the presence of warm and humid conditions. Mold spores can easily enter a home through air conditioning systems or can even be carried in by people or pets. Black mold has a distinct mildew or musty odor although not all dark molds are “black mold,” and many dark molds are not even toxic.

It feeds on organic material and moisture and often grows in areas such as bathrooms, basements, or kitchens. The Center for Disease Control recommends that all molds found in the indoor environment be eliminated, as exposure to this microfungus can pose serious health risks to occupants. Homeowners are cautioned to avoid cleaning black mold themselves. If they must, the affected area should be smaller than 10 square feet. For larger mold infestations, homeowners are strongly advised to call a professional mold remediation company like SERVPRO.

DIY - How to clean mold?

Before beginning the cleaning process, homeowners must wear protective gear before going near mold: goggles, use a N-95 respirator or better, clothing that covers the whole body, and gloves.

  1. Dry the affected areas

Moisture is the food that allows mold to grow. It is imperative to remove the moisture completely or else the black mold can recur if presented with a warm and humid environment.

  • Fix leaks in damp areas around tubs or sinks, as well as cracked or damaged pipes.
  • Clean and maintain the gutters so there is no water seepage in the house via the gutters.
  • Ensure that the ground around the house slopes away so the basement and crawl space dry properly.
  • Allow maximum ventilation in the house to keep the air flowing and to maintain a dry indoor environment.
  1. Prevent the spread

Mold spores can easily travel from one area to another in the house through air ducts, vents, and doorways. Covering these openings with plastic sheets and duct tape prevents mold spores from spreading to the rest of the house during the black mold removal process.

  1. Keep or discard?

Homeowners should survey the house and look for contents and structures that have been affected by the mold. Drywalls that have been infested with mold would probably need to be discarded or replaced. Contents such as carpets and fabrics that have been in contact with mold for more than 24-48 hours would most likely need to be replaced. A professional team such as SERVPRO would be able to discern more efficiently the items that can be restored and those that need to be thrown away.

  1. Removal

Once the affected area is sealed off and dried, homeowners can begin the removal process with extreme precaution.

  1. Scrub the surfaces with a detergent solution. Tougher mold spots may need multiple washes.
  2. Do not use bleach as it does not prevent mold from recurring.
  3. After cleaning, dry the surface quickly with the help of dehumidifiers and fans.
  4. Vacuum the remaining mold spores using a HEPA filtered vacuum cleaner.

It is recommended to use water-resistant materials such as tiles, deep-sealed concrete, and water-resistant glues in case of remodeling. This, however, does not ensure mold won’t recur, especially if there is moisture and organic materials on these water-resistant elements.

Consulting a Texas-licensed Mold Remediation Contractor is strongly advised instead of tackling mold remediation as a DIY project.  Prior to hiring a mold remediation company, review the Texas Mold Assessment and Remediation Rules (TMARR). This will provide a good idea of what is required of a professional mold remediation firm, and what the process entails.

The SERVPRO method

SERVPRO’s mold removal and mold remediation team is the right choice for mold growth that has gotten out of hand.  Depending on the state's mold remediation laws, steps may vary. Here’s a brief insight into the steps they follow that ensure an efficient and complete mold remediation process.

  1. Inspection and mold damage assessment

The SERVPRO team carefully inspects the property for signs of mold using various technologies. Depending on state law and what is discovered, they may remediate, or be required to refer a property owner to an industrial hygienist who will thoroughly inspect the structure for visible and hidden mold, take samples of growth for analysis, and create a mold protocol which assists with creating a mold remediation work plan to be used by the SERVPRO technicians during the remediation process.

  1. Mold containment

SERVPRO uses advanced containment procedures like negative air chambers to isolate the contaminated area with physical barriers and negative air pressure to keep the mold spores from spreading during the remediation process. All fans and heating and cooling systems will be switched off to prevent the growth of mold.

  1. Air filtration

The technicians use specialized filtration equipment to capture microscopic mold spores in the air. “Air scrubbers” and HEPA vacuums halt the spread of these mold spores during the mold remediation process.

  1. Removing mold and mold-infested materials

Disinfectants, biocides, and antimicrobial coatings registered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are used by the technicians to eliminate mold colonies and to check the formation of new colonies.

  1. Cleaning contents and belongings

Restorable items such as furniture, decorative items, curtains, and clothing affected by mold can be restored by the team using an array of cleaning techniques. Odor removal and deodorization can also be executed using fogging equipment.

  1. Restoration

The SERVPRO team can address repairs of all magnitudes - from small repairs such as replacing drywall, painting, and installing new carpet to major repairs such as the reconstruction of various areas or rooms in a home or business.

Why SERVPRO?

  • SERVPRO uses state-of-the-art equipment to bring the damaged property back to its original state. SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford is always updating its fleet and equipment so clients in Hurst, Euless, Bedford, or anywhere else can quickly access the services.

SERVPRO: All About Biohazards and the Commercial Cleaning Process

7/14/2021 (Permalink)

Blog summary: The article by SERVPRO discusses biohazards, their types and levels, and the general process to clean up this threat.

All about biohazards at commercial spaces

A biological hazard, or biohazard, is any biological material that poses a risk to human or animal health. Individuals working in the medical field are at the highest risk of exposure to biohazards. However, this exposure is also prevalent in professions such as law enforcement, coroners, medical examiners, property management, veterinary medicine, waste management, manufacturing, and agriculture. Scenarios in which solid waste or contaminated water saturate building materials or contents, commercial cleaning services and restoration treatments become necessary for health and safety. SERVPRO discusses biohazards in detail below.

The levels of biohazards

According to the Center for Disease Control, there are 4 levels of biohazards:

  • Biohazard Level 1: Agents that pose minimal threat to humans and the environment.
  • Biohazard Level 2: Agents that can cause severe illness in humans and are transmitted through direct contact with infected material.
  • Biohazard Level 3: These include pathogens that become airborne and cause serious diseases. Medications and treatments are usually available for this classification.
  • Biohazard Level 4: Viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms that pose a high risk of life-threatening diseases for which there are no treatments available.

Categories of biohazards

There are four categories of biohazards that identify the types of materials involved and help determine the correct decontamination procedure for biohazard cleanup professionals.

  1. Pathological Waste

Pathological waste includes any type of human or animal organs, tissues, and body parts that have been exposed to infectious agents. This biohazard is found mostly in medical environments but may also be a result of accidents and violent crimes.

  1. Liquid Waste

Liquid waste includes any liquid or fluid from humans or animals. This usually includes blood and blood products like serum and plasma. Other liquid wastes are semen, vaginal fluids, cerebral spinal fluid, synovial fluid, pleural fluid, pericardial fluid, peritoneal fluid, amniotic fluid, and saliva. This also includes blood and fluids from animals.

  1. Solid Waste

Solid waste includes a wide variety of non-sharp items that come in contact with human or animal specimen materials, such as tissues or body fluids. These items include, but are not limited to Petri dishes, pipettes, personal protective equipment, towels and linens, and any sort of dishes and containers.

  1. Sharp Waste

Sharp waste includes any item in the vicinity of biohazard contamination that poses a risk of puncturing the skin. This includes medical equipment like needles, syringes, glass slides, and IVs with needles. In residential, commercial, and industrial environments, this waste includes knives, razor blades, saws, broken glass, and rough metal edges.

The common biohazard scenarios

Backed by an industry-leading training program and over 50 years of experience in biohazard decontamination, SERVPRO professionals clean properties with a higher standard of cleanliness. The common biohazard scenarios are:

  1. Sewage Backups

Sewage backups and dark water intrusions are more than nasty, smelly deposits – these damages also introduce harmful microorganisms into a structure. SERVPRO franchise professionals remove the sewage, contaminants, and moisture, and help ensure the structure is properly cleaned, disinfected, and deodorized.

  1. Pathogens

SERVPRO franchise professionals remove and dispose of bodily fluids, tissue, and other potentially pathogenic substances resulting from accident, trauma, crime, or death. Trained SERVPRO franchise professionals clean, disinfect and deodorize the structure.

  1. Methamphetamine Labs

SERVPRO realizes many of the chemicals used in the production of illegal drugs such as methamphetamine are volatile and can leave harmful residues throughout a structure. SERVPRO franchise professionals follow federal and state guidelines to properly clean all surfaces.

The clean-up process

When it comes to cleaning biohazards, not even a single spot or item can be overlooked or missed as it can pose serious health consequences. Since microbes are invisible to the naked eye, removing them requires a special kind of know-how. SERVPRO professionals are trained to safely clean and remove biohazards and dispose of them properly in accordance with OSHA and health regulations. The generic steps that the team follows are:

Step 1

Wear appropriate PPE, including liquid/airtight clothing, goggles, respirator, gloves

Step 2

Create a clean space or control room to manage entry/exit from the contaminated area

Step 3

Identify primary biohazards and areas of contamination

Step 4

SERVPRO shares facts about mold and how the mold remediation process works

5/17/2021 (Permalink)

Blog summary: SERVPRO discusses the nature and causes of mold spores and how the technicians take care of mold growth that has gone out of hand.

What is mold?

Mold spores grow and spread in the presence of moisture and heat. They produce allergens and irritants that can potentially cause other health effects.

Facts about mold:

  • Omnipresent: It is present almost everywhere, indoors and outdoors.
  • 100,000 different types: Mold comes in a diverse variety although not all types are harmful. Five kinds of mold, including black mold, usually grow indoors and are harmful.
  • Swift multiplier: Mold thrives on moisture and can grow exponentially within 24 to 48 hours after a water damage event. In fact, higher than 45 percent indoor humidity can support mold growth. Unfortunately, it also remains hidden for long if left unnoticed.
  • Sneaks in: Mold spores are microscopic and can enter homes through open doors, windows, and heating & air conditioning systems. Clothing, shoes, and pets can also become carriers of mold.
  • Strong odor: Mold often produces a strong, musty odor and can lead to the source of the problem.
  • Bleach is useless: Bleach may kill the mold but the spores survive, ready to multiply again.

Texas Mold Assessment and Remediation Rules (TMARR) states that if five square feet of visible mold is detected, a Texas-licensed Mold Remediation Contractor must be consulted.

Mold remediation process

Every mold damage scenario requires a unique solution, but the general mold remediation process stays the same:

Step 1 Emergency contact

A mold-cleanup-and-remediation process begins when you call a mold remediation company. SERVPRO’s representative will ask a series of questions to help determine the requisite equipment, resources, and personnel.

Step 2 Inspection and mold damage assessment

Local and state laws may require a specific inspection and documentation protocol based on the size of the affected area. SERVPRO can advise on this process, providing guidance based on the unique situation.

The representatives at SERVPRO carefully inspect the property for visible signs of mold using various technologies to detect even the mold hidden from view. Thereafter, they create a mold remediation plan or protocol and will collect a mold sample for analysis.

Step 3 Mold containment

When the mold contamination affects a total surface area of 25 contiguous square feet or more, various containment procedures must be implemented to prevent the spread of mold.

SERVPRO may use advanced containment procedures like negative air chambers to isolate the contaminated area with physical barriers and negative air pressure to keep the mold spores from spreading during the remediation process. All fans and heating and cooling systems will be switched off to prevent the growth of mold.

Step 4 Air filtration

The technicians use specialized filtration equipment to capture microscopic mold spores in the air. “Air scrubbers” and HEPA vacuums halt the spread of these mold spores during the mold remediation process.

Step 5 Removing mold and mold-infested materials

Disinfectants, biocides and antimicrobial coatings registered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) can be used to eliminate mold colonies and to check the formation of new colonies. Removal and disposal of mold-infested porous materials, like drywall and carpeting, may be needed to remediate heavy mold growth.

Step 6 Cleaning contents and belongings

Restorable items such as furniture, decorative items, curtains, and clothing affected by mold can be restored using an array of cleaning techniques. Odor removal and deodorization can also be executed using fogging equipment.

Step 7 Restoration

This final step brings the property back to its original glory. Restoration may involve minor repairs, such as replacing drywall, painting, and installing new carpet. It could also entail major repairs such as the reconstruction of various areas or rooms in a home or business.

New Franchise Ownership!

12/12/2020 (Permalink)

We have an announcement!

Our franchise has had a new change in ownership!! We would love to welcome Derek and Gabby Shaw to our SERVPRO team. They are now the proud owners of our three franchises. It goes without saying that our team is excited about this new change in leadership!

For those that are curious, here is a little bit about the new owners:
Derek was born and raised in Shreveport, LA to humble beginnings. He was instilled with a strong competitive nature that threw him into the corporate world of sales and leadership. Years of success in sales and sales management fueled his desire to be a highly successful entrepreneur. He took on that challenge and became a multi-unit area developer for Nekter Juice Bar in the DFW region that he manages with his wife, Gabby. Gabby was born and raised in southern Louisiana, where she was exposed to the family construction business, led by her grandfather and father. She has held positions in sales, management, and independent entrepreneurial ventures. At each step along the way, she gained valuable knowledge, expertise and leadership skills. During the start-up of the Nektar franchises, Gabrielle gained the experience of overseeing the build-out of the sites and supervising the construction. This experience gave her great insights and expertise as an entrepreneur, which would serve her well as a SERVPRO franchisee. They now proudly reside in Southlake and are fully immersed in the surrounding communities.

We look forward to everyone getting to meet them and work together. Please help us welcome them to the team!

When a Disaster Strikes your HEB Home, Call Us

Why SERVPRO is the Choice For Restoration in HEB

With decades of experience across the restoration services that we offer the North Texas area, we know how to help when every minute counts. We have ready trailers and service vehicles prepared to roll out from our SERVPRO facility 24/7 to address the harsh effects of water, fire, storm, and mold losses. We have trained professionals to handle more specific recovery niches like air duct cleaning, biohazard cleaning, abatement, and reconstruction efforts. These talents, aiding in every facet of our customers' work, improve our efficiency and effectiveness in your home or business.

Storm

Storm damage in Texas homes is a common situation that our SERVPRO Professionals must address. Texas is susceptible to severe storms from both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. Properties in this midsection must remain prepared for inevitable run-ins with hurricanes, tropical storms, tornadoes, damaging winds other harmful conditions. Our ability to handle these situations is partly due to our commitment to the training and growth of our specialists, ensuring that each loss incidents gets technicians that can:

• Extract and dry up floodwater (WRT – Water Restoration Technician)
• Clean contaminated areas where they exist (Biohazard Cleaning)
• Deploy air movers and dehumidifiers for effective drying solutions (ASD – Applied Structural Drying)
• Clean Carpets and other flooring types (CCT – Carpet Cleaning Technician)
• Prevent microbial growth or address present colonization (AMRT – Applied Microbial Remediation Technician)

The other aspect that has allowed our disaster relief team to become so successful in the North Texas area is our commitment to having the top-tier equipment that gets the job done quickly and correctly. We keep storm trucks stocked with a deep inventory of recovery and mitigation tools, including submersible pumps, engine-driven trash pumps, power washers, air movers, and dehumidifiers.

We can offer a full-service approach amid a crisis so that our customers do not have to waste time finding secondary contractors to handle other aspects of their recovery. We have the skilled professionals to perform board-up and tarping services for your residence amid flood penetration. We can also oversee full-scale reconstruction once mitigation completes in your Texas property.

Water

We know how easily water loss incidents can develop, and that's why training our restoration technicians in this niche is a constant and continual process. The science of restoring water damage in Bedford homes is evolving and consistently changing. So our professionals have to move along with it – putting these new practices and equipment into use to help our customers with the most efficient and practical approach. Our commitment to customer satisfaction and the outcome of your loss incidents goes far beyond our IICRC training.

Our restoration team has access to equipment and machines that far exceed the limitations of conventional recovery tools. The truck-mounted water extractors that our SERVPRO team uses, for example, can handle the removal of thousands of gallons of water every day. Combined with multiple other impressive equipment pieces, this vehicle sets our professionals apart in water damage restoration for the North Texas/HEB area.

We also have the capability of addressing the massive loss of water damage for commercial properties and houses. 33 years of industry experience and a roster that features Commercial Drying Specialists (CDS) and those with WRT and ASD endorsements, no job is too big or too complicated for our field technicians with the right approach, equipment, and attitude.

Fire

Our team is responsible for many structures in this area alone; the possibility of fire damage is a persistent threat. Knowing the best approach to handle these conditions hinges on the severity of the situation and what materials, surfaces, and contents have become affected. Our IICRC-Certified Fire & Smoke Restoration Technicians (FSRT) and those with additional training in odor control and upholstery/carpet cleaning have access to equipment that can help our team restore loss incidents quickly.

Much of our efficiency in fire recovery stems from these advanced and cutting-edge machines. Soot removal and cleaning, for example, often fall to a combination of specially-formulated cleaning agents and products with automated surface scrubbers that can eliminate residues on surfaces.

Every minute counts in fire restoration. Our technicians obtain IICRC certifications and train to understand how fire damage in Hurst homes and businesses spreads and the best approach to overcome the damages.

Mold

Before our certified AMRTs can set up containment barriers and begin the often-intricate process of mold remediation in your Hurst, Euless or Bedford home or business – our professionals must locate the source of the moisture and dampness. These conditions are likely to happen again without adequately identifying how the water damage facilitated mold growth.

Sometimes the humid conditions are enough to generate these hazardous circumstances, as interior humidity above 60% can mold growth on ceilings and other organic materials. The initial approach is to establish isolation zones using our powerful negative air machines in conjunction with physical plastic sheeting. Mold damage in Texas homes can spread quickly and harmfully without these containment barriers.

Suppose our technicians reach the situation in your Euless residence fast enough. In that case, many of the hosting materials can get repaired using sophisticated equipment like dry ice blasting machines and soda-blasting equipment. These approaches can remove mold debris without harming the surface and substrate.

Fort Worth is a highly active area of the country, and as such, the threats of emergencies and disasters never cease. You can count the swift response of SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford team in a crisis. Give our professionals a call anytime that you need us at (817) 595-0004.

Benefits of a Large Loss Response

12/10/2020 (Permalink)

When a disaster occurs in Bedford, TX, catastrophic loss often occurs. However, employing a restoration company that can offer a massive loss response can be useful for insurance agents and business owners.

  1. Equipped With the Right Tools

When a major disaster strikes, the aftermath can be devastating. Restoration experts will likely be overwhelmed with requests. Other smaller, local restoration companies may not be equipped to handle all types of disasters, and these companies may not have access to specialized tools. A restoration company with a broad reach can bring the necessary tools from various locations to assist in the cleanup and restoration process.

  1. Experience to Handle Catastrophes

Whether a catastrophic loss occurs due to flooding, storm or fire damage, it's essential for business owners and insurance agents alike to know experienced professionals restoring commercial properties can help. One person alone may not have the experience to respond to a major disaster. However, when numerous people assist in responding to a disaster, the combined expertise makes the loss response team manage many aspects of commercial property damage.

  1. Timely Reactions

When widespread damage occurs to an area, a local restoration company may not assess shortly after the disaster. Unfortunately, a slow response can cause a property to acquire more issues, such as mold growth, structural damage, etc. With a massive loss response, however, professionals can quickly assess a property, and after a thorough assessment, experts can assist in preventing additional damage and can begin restoration.

A massive loss response can make managing the effects of a catastrophic loss easier. An enormous loss response will allow various professionals from different areas to assess the damage. Experts will have the combined experience to handle multiple significant problems. Call SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford at (817) 595-0004.

First Steps After Disaster Strikes Your Business

12/2/2020 (Permalink)

Natural disasters like tornadoes are unfortunately a reality in the DFW complex, which is why it’s smart to verse yourself in what to do after disaster strikes your business. During 2019 and 2020, the devastating tornadoes in Dallas and Arlington brought lots of disaster to our city, and now is the time to educate yourself to know what to do if something terrible comes your way.

If your business experiences a natural disaster of any type, this is what you should do first.

  1. Stay out of the building until it is deemed safe to enter.

Never ever enter your storefront or office building until professionals deem that it is safe to enter following a disaster like a tornado, a fire, or a severe storm. There may be underlying structural issues that aren’t visible to the eye, and you should never risk your safety and well-being to enter a building without first having it examined post-disaster.

  1. Call for professional disaster restoration help.

In order to have someone assess the damage, rely on the professionals. You can reach SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford at any hour of any day for emergency assistance by dialing (817) 595-0004. Call this number and relay the disaster that has occurred along with your business’s physical location, and after you talk to the operator, wait for help to arrive. There’s nothing that you should do before a professional can properly assess the damage that has occurred and take care of any issues that require immediate action.

  1. Take pictures of the damage for the property insurance claim.

While you wait for the professionals to arrive from a safe distance away from your business’s building, you can take pictures of the damage from afar to document what has happened. These pictures will be important to pass along to your property insurance carrier so you can make a claim after paying your deductible to receive any money back for the damage.

Although it may seem counterintuitive to stay away from your business’s building and do nothing beyond call for help and take pictures to document the damage post-disaster, trust us when we say that doing less is the safest thing to do. Disasters are to be taken seriously, and you should always let the disaster restoration professionals assess the safety of your commercial property before approaching and entering it yourself.

When disaster strikes, SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford is here to help. Ring us at (817) 595-0004 for emergency assessments and restoration services after any disaster.

Immediate First Steps to Take If An Appliance is Leaking

11/25/2020 (Permalink)

Have you ever come home to water pooling on your floor under your sink or by your refrigerator? You may have panicked. Immediate steps to take after a water leak aren’t really common knowledge, so it’s important to educate yourself beforehand so you know what to do if an appliance leaks on you!

1. After you’ve discovered a water leak, shut off the water to that appliance.

Depending on when you’ve caught the leak, you may be able to avoid the most costly damage. However, it’s always better to be safe than sorry. After identifying a leak, shut off water flow to that appliance so that you can find its source.

2. Unplug nearby electronics.

Any electronics near the leak should also be unplugged and shut off. If the water from the leak appears excessive, turn off the circuit breaker to your home. Give your local electrician a call as well as the restoration professionals to assess the damage and how to proceed. Your safety is paramount.

3. Note where the water appears to be coming from.

Appliance water leaks often can be categorized into three common problems: a drain line leak, a supply line leak, or a burst pipe. A drain line leak stems from a leaky drain that isn’t properly working. This may be fast or slow and can result in bacteria in the line. On the other hand, a supply line leak stems from leaks in your water supply piping that brings water to your appliance.

4. Take pictures for insurance claims.

Especially if extensive damage has occurred, take pictures of the leak and the subsequent water damage to file an insurance claim with. It’s important that you do this before cleaning up any of the mess so that you have accurate documentation of the leak.

5. Call the professionals.

While there are ways you can attempt to identify the leak type and resolve it yourself, it’s always a smart investment to call the local plumbing professionals to assess the leak and fix it. If there is damage that needs to be cleaned up, you’ll probably need to contact your local restoration company, too.

If you’re dealing with the aftermath of an appliance water leak in your home, give SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford a call at (817) 595-0004. We’re available 24/7 and have seasoned technicians trained and equipped to handle water damage, fire damage, storm damage, mold, and other disasters.

Damage Restoration Company Makes a Difference

5/13/2020 (Permalink)

Summary: SERVPRO of Hurst-Euless-Bedford provides water, fire, wind, storm, and mold damage restoration for residential and commercial properties.

One of the most frequently asked questions by people who need damage cleanup and restoration is “Why SERVPRO?” SERVPRO answers the question in a way that is simple, straightforward, and accurate: “The SERVPRO® Difference: The People, Experience, Training, and Equipment to make it … "Like it never even happened."®

The SERVPRO Story

The SERVPRO story sheds more light on The SERVPRO Difference. In 1967, Ted and Doris Isaacson created SERVPRO as a painting business in California. Having a background in cleaning and restoration, they soon transformed the company into a franchisor of cleanup and restoration specialists. They sold their first franchise in 1969 and continued to grow.

In 1988, SERVPRO relocated its corporate headquarters from Sacramento to Gallatin, Tennessee to place itself within 600 miles of 50% of the U.S. population. The company continued its impressive growth, selling the 1,000th franchise in 2000. Today, there are more than 1,700 franchises in the United States, and SERVPRO continues to grow. With a proud history, a positive current growth, and a bright future, SERVPRO presses on toward becoming the premier cleanup and restoration company in the world. Every SERVPRO® Franchise Professional is dedicated to restoring both the property and the lives of the customers being helped. When cleaning a property so that the disaster looks "Like it never even happened,” dedication and commitment make a difference.

The SERVPRO Team Brings Value and Savings to Clients

SERVPRO promotes the Golden Rule of Restoration: “Restore whenever possible, replace only when necessary.” Restoration is often more cost-effective and time-efficient than replacement. SERVPRO professionals bring savings and value to people who may have lost all their valuables and must exhaust their savings to recover from the disaster. This cost-consciousness on the part of the SERVPRO  team makes a difference.

SERVPRO Cares

SERVPRO customers are people who have suffered a sudden and unexpected disaster from fire, wind, water, storm, or mold. They are often stunned, in shock, and feeling vulnerable. As much as possible, SERVPRO employees, both in the office and the field, do whatever it takes to achieve customer satisfaction in a professional and respectful manner. Personal sacrifice is more than a part of the job. It is the heart and soul of the corporate culture and a way of life for the SERVPRO team.

Words Are Powerful

“The SERVPRO® Difference: The People, Experience, Training, and Equipment to make it ... "Like it never even happened."® These words, loaded with nuggets of truth, communicate powerful messages.

The “SERV” in SERVPRO communicates the attitude of the SERVPRO professional. SERVPRO team members are on call 24/7 and arrive quickly to begin the process of damage restoration. Often, they provide personal comfort and encouragement to families whose lives have been devastated by a flood, fire, tornado, or other disaster. SERVPRO team members may even live in the same town or city as the client and may have been affected by the same disaster that struck the client.

The “PRO” in SERVPRO communicates an approach that exhibits professionalism of the highest caliber. The men and women arriving on scene to serve are experienced, highly-trained, and fully-equipped professionals ready to face the most daunting challenges.

“Like it never even happened,” communicates action. When the caring professionals at SERVPRO arrive on the scene, they carefully evaluate the situation and quickly formulate an action plan. Then, they get to work. Time is a critical factor in any damage restoration process, and delay can often increase the damage and complicate the restoration process. People want their life, their home, and their business back up and running as soon as possible. SERVPRO understands these concerns.

Conclusion

SERVPRO offers an attitude of caring service, an approach that exhibits the utmost professionalism, and actions that restore a damaged home or business to its preloss condition.  When water, fire, wind, storms, or mold damages a home or business and disrupts lives, turn to “The SERVPRO® Difference: The People, Experience, Training, and Equipment to make it … "Like it never even happened."®
